Se state già seguendo il mondo MIUI saprete che attualmente gli unici due terminali supportati ufficialmente per adesso sono Nexus S e MI-ONE quindi per il momento rilasceremo MIUI 2.1.20 Italian Pack #1 per il primo, dato che i possessori di Nexus S non vedono ormai un aggiornamento in lingua italiana da molto tempo, successivamente metteremo a punto il pack per MI-ONE, questo sia perchè qualche fortunato italiano è riuscito a venirne in possesso sia perchè l’Italian Pack per questo terminale ci sarà utile nei nostri laboratori per i test e la risoluzione dei prossimi bugs. Non escludiamo neanche la possibilità, come già accennato sui vari social networks, di realizzare in futuro versioni dell’ Italian Pack dedicate ai portings non ufficiali di MIUI V4 realizzati fino ad ora per altri terminali (ecco la lista), specialmente se i tempi degli aggiornamenti ufficiali per tutti gli altri device si protrarranno nel tempo.

Veniamo al pack rilasciato quest’oggi. Oltre ai problemi legati allo sviluppo della ROM (su cui purtroppo non possiamo intervenire) ci sono un paio di cose che dobbiamo ancora ottimizzare, come alcune stringhe che troverete non tradotte dall’inglese all’italiano (in particolare nell’applicazione Email ) a causa di alcuni problemi in via di risoluzione, nonostante ciò abbiamo deciso di rilasciare perchè il 99% dei problemi legati alla nostra traduzione è stato risolto e quindi ci è sembrata l’ora di pubblicare il nostro lavoro.

Alcuni dei bug dipendenti dalla ROM che sono venuti a galla anche nei nostri test e sui quali aspettiamo l’intervento degli sviluppatori cinesi sono i seguenti:

• Bug impostazioni galleria
• Alcune ottimizzazioni mancanti per la tastiera

A proposito di test voglio ringraziare di cuore i nostri fantastici tester Davide, Federico e Nicola, che ci hanno permesso di eseguire un gran numero di test finalizzati alla risoluzione dei bug, dimostrandosi sempre disponibili, capaci ed efficientissimi, contribuendo così allo sviluppo di questa nuova versione del nostro Italian Pack. Proseguono anche i lavori per la realizzazione del tanto atteso Italian Pack per MIUI 4.0 dedicata a Nexus S, i problemi principali sono stati risolti ed il testing sta portando i suoi frutti, purtroppo la ROM di base è ancora acerba (chi ha testato la versione inglese o cinese se ne sarà accorto), quindi nonostante l’ottimizzazione del nostro Italian Pack restano al momento dei problemi per i quali non possiamo fare altro che attendere i fix degli sviluppatori cinesi.

Dopo il riavvio MIUI vi comparirà direttamente in italiano senza più dover andare a impostare manualmente la lingua. Se trovate delle icone inattive sul desktop (fotocamera, calendario  o altro) eseguite un nuovo riavvio ed il problema sparirà.

Nota 2: in caso riscontriate un errore di firma del tipo “verification failed” in fase di installazione dell’Italian Pack, potete semplicemente disattivare la verifica firma dalla recovery e l’installazione andrà a buon fine. Di seguito il procedimento per chi non sapesse come disattivare la verifica della firma:

Iniziamo la nostra breve sintesi con il ripasso della distinzione della linea di sviluppo Developer, con rilascio settimanale, che rappresenta la versione della ROM  più sperimentale ed aggiornata con nuove features, mentre la cosiddetta Stable, il cui rilascio è a cadenza mensile (salvo eccezioni o ritardi) rappresenta la versione stabile, maggiormente testata e più adatta ad un uso quotidiano anche se la Developer, specialmente negli ultimi tempi, non creai grossi problemi.

Tale qualità però sembra essere afflitta da un grave problema costruttivo legato all’ hardware e non al software del prodotto, che va ad intaccare il funzionamento del chip GPS.

Proprio per questo, Asus UK ha deciso di supportare gli acquirenti del tablet con un iniziativa lodevole. Chi lo vorrà infatti potrà chiedere il rimborso completo del Tranformer Prime o l’estensione della garanzia fino a 18 mesi.

Sinceramente non abbiamo ancora potuto testare con mano il dispositivo, quindi non possiamo sentenziare oggettivamente sull’entità del problema, che comunque non sembra risolvibile neanche con futuri aggiornamenti.

Chissà se in Italia Asus  proporrà la medesima iniziativa quando sarà commercializzato il Prime o, ancor meglio, distribuirà un tablet non più afflitto dal problema.

A voi fortunati possessori di Transformer Prime chiediamo: “Avete mai avuto problemi con il GPS?”

Dopo i problemi al GPS ed alla batteria che hanno afflitto i primi Asus Transformer Prime, sembra difatti che adesso stiano sorgendo anche dei problemi per l’aggiornamento all’ultima versione di Android. Asus è già al corrente di tutto ciò, e si è subito messa al lavoro. Se nel vostro tablet, nel caso in cui abbiate un Asus Transformer Prime tra le mani, compare la scritta “Serial Number Not Found” e nelle impostazioni, sullo stato del dispositivo ci sia scritto Sconosciuto, Asus ha consigliato di ripristinare il tablet con un Factory Reset e poi lasciare il dispositivo acceso per 15 minuti con connessione internet attivata, per poter permettere al tablet di collegarsi con i server Asus e sincronizzarsi.

Probabilmente questo problema non toccherà noi italiani, dato che il tablet uscirà nel nostro Paese a fine gennaio e per quella data verrà sicuramente rilasciato un nuovo aggiornamento, però stupisce come Asus Transformer Prime stia avendo così tanti, inattesi, problemi.

A quanto pare infatti, il Nexus di terza generazione si riavvia durante un’operazione comune quanto normale, ovvero lo scroll della barra delle notifiche verso il basso.

Tale bug si verifica unicamente in modalità landscape,  trascinando la barra molto lentamente.

Proprio stamani, su  phonearena.com, è stato pubblicato un articolo riguardante proprio i riavvii spot che si presentano sul Galaxy Nexus. Noi in precedenza avevamo pubblicato un articolo riguardante lo Sleep of Dead, che bloccava il nostro telefono in una sorta di limbo in cui l’unico modo per sbloccarlo era togliendo la batteria.

Quest’ultimo bug che vi segnaliamo non è ancora stato riscontrato dalla community, per questo vi chiediamo di verificare se anche sui vostri Galaxy Nexus si presenta e magari di inviarci un feedback tramite commenti o nel thread del forum.

Dopo il riavvio MIUI vi comparirà direttamente in italiano senza più dover andare a impostare manualmente la lingua. Se trovate delle icone inattive sul desktop (fotocamera, calendario  o altro) eseguite un nuovo riavvio ed il problema sparirà.

Nota 2: in caso riscontriate un errore di firma del tipo “verification failed” in fase di installazione dell’Italian Pack, potete semplicemente disattivare la verifica firma dalla recovery e l’installazione andrà a buon fine. Di seguito il procedimento per chi non sapesse come disattivare la verifica della firma:

- ClockworkMod recovery: Install Zip From Sdcard -> Toggle Signature Verification – Amon Ra: Other -> Toggle Signature Verify
